Telecoms tapped for Korea\'s \'AI for All\' project as infrastructure capability comes into focus

South Korea has completed the selection of operators for its government AI service project, \'AI for All\', aimed at the entire population. Naver Cloud, SKT face off in cybersecurity AI foundation model bid

South Korea’s government project to develop a cybersecurity-specialised AI foundation model has narrowed to a two-way contest between consortia led by Naver Cloud and SK Telecom, the science ministry said. Naver Cloud set a goal of embedding national cyber security capabilities and formed a broad consortium spanning security firms, demand-side institutions and AI companies. SKT aims to prove an “agentic security service” for enterprise use, linking the model to existing security monitoring systems.
