Nexthrus raises 3.8 billion won from KT, LGU+ and Certik as strategic shareholders

Nexthrus is bringing in KT, LG Uplus and Certik as new shareholders, expanding its telecommunications and security partnerships into an equity relationship. The company disclosed it decided at a board meeting on Sept. 10 to carry out a third-party allocation paid-in capital increase targeting the three firms. It plans to issue 2,151,443 new shares, raising about 3.8 billion won. Payment is due on Sept. 18 and the shares will be locked up for 1 year.

Beluga says \'Today\'s Walnut\' is a basecamp for cognitive data, plans expansion into digital therapeutics

Cognitive-function startup Beluga plans to expand into digital therapeutics based on its brain-training game \'Today\'s Walnut\'. The company aims to analyse behaviour data generated during gameplay to assess users\' cognitive status and, over time, develop a digital therapeutic device for mild cognitive impairment. Beluga is jointly researching core AI models for a cognitive profiling platform with Kakao Games. It is also preparing a senior-focused version, an English release next year and longer-term work toward a 2028 digital therapeutic device.

Woori Bank\'s WooriWON Mobile Chuseok event offers up to six months of mobile bill benefits

Woori Bank\'s telecommunications service WooriWON Mobile is offering mobile bill support, points and other benefits in September for customers who subscribe to certain plans. The bank said it will run a Chuseok-themed event, providing 30,000 won in Naver Pay and monthly membership coupons worth 5,000 won to customers who open service during the month. Customers subscribing to 15 plans will receive points for six months, and referrals will also earn points.
