Dokpamo participants bet on agentic AI ahead of August second-round review

Companies taking part in Korea’s independent AI foundation model project, known as Dokpamo, are stepping up efforts to build agentic AI capabilities ahead of a second-stage evaluation in August. Developers are focusing on orchestration skills such as tool calling as large language model use expands beyond simple Q&A to real work tasks. LG AI Research, Upstage, SK Telecom and Motif Technologies each say they are strengthening agent performance in their models for the review.

K-AI models expand on-site use from national heritage to bank branches

South Korean artificial intelligence models are spreading across industrial sites, from national heritage services to in-car voice recognition and bank branch design. Motif Technologies will embed its AI model in services for the National Heritage Promotion Agency, including the text-based image generation service HAI, selected as an official case for the AI for Good Global Summit in July. LG AI Research and FuriosaAI are running EXAONE on FuriosaAI’s RNGD NPU, while SK Telecom’s 42dot unveiled Gleo AI. NC AI will support Shinhan Bank branch design using digital twins.

K-AI models spread to semiconductors, farm machinery and nuclear power sites

South Korean artificial intelligence models are expanding across industrial sites, from semiconductor manufacturing to autonomous farm machinery and nuclear power plant operations. SK Telecom is applying its AI model to SK Hynix work environments and is reviewing deployment at chipmaking sites. Motif Technologies and Mobirus are integrating VLA technology for autonomous farm machinery. Naver Cloud built a generative AI platform with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. Upstage embedded Solar in Allganize\'s Alli service.
