Kakao signs AI education deal with education ministry and university council to expand Tech for Impact nationwide
Kakao’s corporate foundation, the Kakao Impact Foundation, said it will sign an MOU on Tuesday with South Korea’s Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education to jointly push a project supporting the development of basic AI education courses for universities. The partners aim to expand the foundation’s Tech for Impact Campus program nationwide, raise AI fundamentals among students and broaden opportunities to 20 universities beyond the capital region.

MSIT, Education Ministry launch dedicated task force for AI talent development
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Education are stepping up cooperation to nurture artificial intelligence talent. The ministries on April 24 held the first meeting of a dedicated task force at the National Science and Technology Advisory Council’s main conference room. The task force follows a talent policy meeting last month between the vice prime minister and the education minister, and will be co-led by vice ministers.

South Korea, Vietnam sign framework to boost science, technology and development cooperation
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said it is strengthening cooperation with Vietnam in science, technology and digital fields following President Lee Jae-myung’s state visit. It signed a digital cooperation MOU with Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology to share policies and pursue joint projects. The science and foreign ministries also agreed a masterplan framework on science, technology innovation and development cooperation, with follow-up support for the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology.
