Tesla moves into modular AI data centre hardware with Megapod trademark filing
Tesla is pushing into modular artificial intelligence data centre hardware after filing a trademark for “Megapod” in the United States. The application describes a modular data centre hardware system for AI computing, including servers, networking equipment, power distribution and cooling. Tesla also describes a self-contained modular computing unit with downloadable software for monitoring and optimisation. The move would put Tesla into competition with Nvidia-backed platforms, while Tesla remains a major Nvidia customer and has faced delays in its own AI chip plans.

SpaceX-Tesla merger talks resurface ahead of Nasdaq listing
Talk of a possible merger between SpaceX and Tesla has resurfaced as SpaceX nears a Nasdaq listing. CNBC reported Elon Musk has discussed combining the companies with close associates, and that a view is spreading inside Tesla that such a deal could eventually happen. SpaceX, valued at $1.25 trillion in the private market after a merger with xAI, is expected to begin Nasdaq trading in two weeks. The companies already share resources, board ties and AI-related investment.

SpaceX discloses bulk purchases of Tesla Megapacks and Cybertrucks at list price
SpaceX disclosed in an IPO securities filing that it bought Tesla products worth hundreds of millions of dollars, including Megapack energy storage systems and Cybertrucks. The S-1 filing shows purchases of about $697 million of Megapacks in 2024 and 2025, plus about $131 million of Cybertrucks in 2025, followed by another $34 million of Megapacks in the first quarter. SpaceX classified the deals as related-party transactions.
