Salesforce CEO says \'SaaSpocalypse\' is nonsense, AI will not erode SaaS
Salesforce has pushed back against market fears of a \"SaaSpocalypse.\" CEO Marc Benioff said the view that AI will erode the software-as-a-service business lacks basis and that advanced models rely on CRM rather than replace it. Salesforce shares jumped more than 12 percent on strong quarterly results and guidance above expectations. Benioff said 9 of the top 10 AI companies use Salesforce and Slack, with their platform spending up 435 percent year on year.

Salesforce, Anthropic unveil Claudeforce to use sales data directly in Claude
Salesforce and Anthropic expanded their strategic cooperation and unveiled a new plug-in, Claudeforce, that lets sales staff use key data directly in Anthropic chatbot Claude. CNBC reported the product launches with 37 prebuilt sales functions. Users can draft emails and update records in Claude. The companies plan to broaden integration across Claude, Salesforce and Slack. Claudeforce is available to select pilot customers and is set for a preview release in September.

Naver invests in offshore AI data center startup Pantalasa
Naver said on Aug. 13 it has invested in U.S. startup Pantalasa, which develops offshore artificial intelligence data centers. Founded in Oregon in 2016, Pantalasa is building floating AI data centers powered by wave energy. Its platform integrates power generation, AI computing and seawater cooling, running AI workloads without separate transmission infrastructure and sending results via low-Earth-orbit satellite networks such as Starlink. Pantalasa aims to commercialise in 2027.
