Salesforce is removing the term “Agentforce” from some key product names ahead of its annual customer conference Dreamforce next week, The Information reported on Thursday, citing two people familiar with the matter.

Salesforce has positioned Agentforce as central to its product sales and marketing strategy since launching it in late 2024, the report said. Marc Benioff (마크 베니오프), CEO of Salesforce, at one point even discussed changing the company’s official name itself to Agentforce.

Salesforce added Agentforce to the names of about 20 products in October last year, but this week changed them back to their original names on its website. The changes were confirmed through archive records, The Information said.

Salesforce’s core sales management product was changed from Sales Cloud to Agentforce Sales last year, but has now been changed back to Sales Cloud.

It is not clear why Salesforce decided to change the names. Salesforce spokespersons did not respond to requests for comment.

Agentforce showed weak performance early after launch but has since posted growth. Agentforce annualised revenue exceeded $1.5 billion in the quarter ended in July, up more than 240 percent from a year earlier.

Salesforce decided to keep the name Agentforce for the Agentforce 360 product itself.

Salesforce has also changed the Headless 360 platform unveiled in April back to its previous name, Salesforce Platform. Headless 360 supports customers’ access to data within Salesforce applications using external AI agents such as Anthropic.
