Salesforce and Anthropic expanded their strategic cooperation and unveiled a new plug-in, Claudeforce, that lets sales staff use key data directly in Anthropic chatbot Claude.

CNBC reported on Aug. 26 that Claudeforce launched with 37 prebuilt sales functions.

Users can handle related tasks in Claude, including drafting emails and updating records. Salesforce and Anthropic plan to expand integration across Claude, Salesforce and the messaging platform Slack.

The announcement marks the first case of Salesforce adding its "force" suffix to another company's product name, CNBC reported. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said it provides a dynamic interface that thinks, reasons and acts by combining Claude's reasoning capabilities with enterprise data, workflows and governance.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said companies can connect Claude to customer information and business context accumulated in Salesforce over decades to draw more important insights and boost operational efficiency and growth speed.

Claudeforce is currently being offered to some pilot customers and is set to be released as a preview version in September. More functions will be added this year.

Salesforce and other enterprise software vendors have recently faced investor concerns that AI tools could replace existing software. Salesforce shares are down about 22 percent so far this year and fell 20 percent in 2025. The Nasdaq index, in contrast, has risen about 35 percent since the end of 2024.

Salesforce also reported fiscal second-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations, and its shares rose 12 percent in after-hours trading on Aug. 26.
