AI to automate last mile of labor, Real World aims for human-level robot dexterity
Physical AI company Real World (RLWRLD) unveiled its in-house robotics foundation model, RLDX-1, and said it is accelerating efforts to expand in the South Korean market. At an event in Seoul, Chief Executive Ryu Jung-hee said even highly automated factories still rely on humans for 25 percent of work and that the company aims to automate such tasks with AI. The firm also outlined its data pipeline, synthetic data approach and hardware partnerships.

MSIT selects 15 ICT future unicorns to support overseas expansion and funding
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT selected 15 companies for this year\'s Global ICT Future Unicorn Development Programme to support the global growth of promising AI and digital innovation firms. The ministry held a certificate presentation ceremony in Seoul on Tuesday. The programme, now in its seventh year, provides scale-up support and works with related agencies including NIPA, KODIT, the Korea Exchange and Seoul Guarantee Insurance.

Korean AI chips speed up mass production, commercialisation as MSIT holds growth forum
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held the K-AI Semiconductor Growth Forum in Seoul on June 4 to share results from domestic AI chip development and discuss growth strategies. About 300 people attended, including government, parliament and industry representatives. The forum presented pilot project cases and export-linked examples, and disclosed progress on the K-Perf performance benchmark. The ministry also outlined plans to expand standards, enhance testing and open a technical support centre in the first half.
