Flare co-founder welcomes Charles Hoskinson return after XRP-BTC clash

Flare co-founder Hugo Philion publicly supported Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson\'s return to activity on X, after the two clashed over XRP and bitcoin interoperability and bitcoin-based DeFi strategy. Philion said the crypto industry would be worse off without Hoskinson, Cardano and Midnight, while maintaining Cardano was duplicating work that could be done using FXRP and Flare Bitcoin via LayerZero. Hoskinson had briefly reduced public activity before returning.

Kraken switches cross-chain provider from LayerZero to Chainlink\'s CCIP

U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has switched its cross-chain provider from LayerZero to Chainlink\'s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Cointelegraph reported on Thursday. Kraken plans to apply CCIP as its dedicated cross-chain infrastructure for Kraken Wrapped Bitcoin (kBTC) and all future wrapped tokens. It cited security and risk management, pointing to features such as verification, default security design, 16 independent nodes and native rate limits.

Ethereum may yet target $2,600 as derivatives show no sharp bearish turn

Ethereum has repeatedly failed to break above $2,400, but derivatives indicators still leave room for a move toward $2,600, an analysis said. Futures funding rates have recovered from negative territory, while put option activity on Deribit has stayed below calls since May 4. The report cited macroeconomic uncertainty and a series of DeFi-related hacks, but said these were tied to protocol-specific bugs rather than structural issues in Ethereum.
