He is set to become CEO after being appointed an inside director at a March 26 shareholder meeting and then approved by the board. Key tasks include strengthening growth through its internet-based TV service ipit TV and producing results from its investment in AI sports broadcasting firm Pochak.

Woori Financial Group said on Thursday that its university student correspondent programme, Team Woori Supporters, recorded more than 1 million cumulative views on social media during the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. The group, an official sponsor of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, said it sent students to Milan to cheer the national team and deliver on-the-ground coverage, including visits to the athletes’ village and participation in Korea House events.
