Popular channels used for MPP bundling; cable operators lack means to refuse
Rules governing channel transactions premised on cable operators\' dominance do not fit current market conditions, a seminar heard. Some large multi-programme providers use popular channels to push bundled deals, leaving operators unable to drop only unwanted channels, analysts said. A professor argued guidelines banning forced bundling are not working in practice and called for recognising refusal of individual contracts as grounds to end a channel. Lawyers also urged assessing bargaining power case by case.

Korea Internet Newspaper Association announces 2026 Internet Newspaper Awards; DailyPharm, DigitalToday win
The Korea Internet Newspaper Association on Monday announced the winners of its 2026 Internet Newspaper Awards. Marking the awards’ 10th year, a judging panel chaired by Hanyang University professor Dong-seop Han selected three media winners, 16 reporting winners and two special jury prizes after a three-week review. DailyPharm won the top media prize, while DigitalToday received a media innovation award. The Fact reporter Yun-ho Nam won the top reporting prize.

South Korea science Olympiad team of 43 holds send-off ceremony ahead of July competitions
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity held a send-off ceremony on Tuesday for the national team for the 2026 International Science Olympiad. The event drew about 200 people, including 43 team members and officials from nine subject committees. The team was selected after 14 months of competition from about 8,000 participants. The team will begin competing on July 4 in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
