KT CEO Park Yoon-young (박윤영) said the company will create an environment in which no one is excluded from using AI through 'AI for Everyone'. He laid out a plan to deliver "everyday-life-focused AI" that solves problems in people’s daily lives and reaches offline sites.

Speaking at a briefing to launch the 'AI for Everyone' project at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, on Thursday, Park said: "AI for Everyone is a stepping stone beyond 'one agent per person' toward South Korea becoming one of the world’s top three AI powers, and the first step for all citizens toward a basic AI society."

He introduced the KT consortium’s goal as enabling all citizens to use the best-made AI without exclusion. KT aims to drive the success of the AI for Everyone business through 'Project Ieum'.

KT is focusing on solving real problems in citizens’ daily lives. It will not only provide answers tailored to users’ situations and needs, but also link them to the services and actions required to help solve problems. "We will build AI that does not stop at simple Q&A, but connects answers suited to citizens’ daily lives and solves problems," Park said.

Park also presented expanding AI accessibility as a key task. KT plans to use its nationwide offline touchpoints and on-site capabilities so that even citizens unfamiliar with using online services can benefit from AI. "We will implement an 'AI last mile' that goes to offline touchpoints so that no one is left out," Park said.

To improve service speed, accuracy and stability, KT will combine its infrastructure capabilities with various AI models. The KT consortium plans to use a multi-model structure that leverages the strengths of multiple AI models and a 'token factory' to provide suitable AI services to users quickly and stably.

"Through a token factory that concentrates KT’s capabilities and multi-model capabilities, we will deliver AI that is fast, accurate and backed by stability," Park said. "We will create AI that further improves citizens’ quality of life and makes people who have actually used it feel, 'It is really good.'"
