Postal Service Agency urges caution over phishing emails posing as post office
South Korea\'s Postal Service Agency said cases have been confirmed of phishing emails impersonating the agency and urged the public to take special care. It said emails sent under names such as the \"Korea Postal Service Agency Delivery Management Team\" direct recipients to an external phishing site designed to look official and attempt to steal personal data and induce payments. The agency said post offices do not request address changes or payments by email.

South Korea pilots always-on vulnerability reporting and remediation scheme
South Korea will launch the country’s first pilot programme for a security vulnerability reporting, remediation and disclosure scheme, aimed at building a safe and transparent security ecosystem. The initiative includes a vulnerability disclosure policy and a coordinated vulnerability disclosure policy. Fifteen organisations, including 7 companies and 8 public bodies, will participate. Applications open May 29 to June 12, with hacking and reporting running to November and results disclosed at year-end.

South Korea\'s financial sector is on alert after the emergence of high-performance AI model Mytos, which is seen as capable of planning and carrying out hacking attacks. The Financial Services Commission said it will temporarily ease network separation rules to allow AI use for security purposes at large financial companies and will expand the scope in stages. It also said it will consider fully lifting the rules for firms with strong security and AI capabilities.
