Block S selected for KISA post-quantum cryptography pilot in finance sector

Block S, a company specialising in enterprise Quantum Transformation, was selected for the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) "2026 post-quantum cryptography pilot transition project" in the finance sector, it said on Thursday. It will verify the feasibility of transitioning to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) in real-world financial environments.

Block S will use the project to step up an integrated enterprise quantum transformation service lineup spanning crypto-asset diagnostics, PQC security transition, quantum education and industry-specific quantum computing use.

Block S plans to verify the effectiveness of PQC security transition in South Korea's financial sector environment through the project.

Block S said it is building a full-stack service that links enterprise quantum education and industry-specific quantum computing use, starting with PQC security transition. It aims to support enterprise quantum transformation.

The company plans to expand the scope of quantum transformation applications from finance to the public sector, telecommunications, cloud, manufacturing and energy.

A Block S official said, "If AI transformation changed the way companies work and their productivity, the next transformation will be quantum transformation." The official added, "PQC security transition is a realistic entry point that all companies must prepare first."
