A debate is growing over the appearance of the XRP logo on Kansas University sports uniforms and how far campuses should allow cryptocurrency advertising. Blockchain outlet U.Today reported that former Ripple chief technology officer David Schwartz rejected calls to ban the ads, saying such restrictions would be hard to sustain under the U.S. Constitution. He cited First Amendment protections for commercial speech and referenced U.S. Supreme Court rulings involving liquor and gambling advertising.

XRP has extended a months-long decline against bitcoin and is nearing its lowest level of the year. The XRP/BTC pair has slipped again in July, hovering around 0.00001735 BTC, after a brief period of sideways trading and a slight rebound in June. XRP has also weakened in dollar terms over the past year. Recent spot ETF outflows and talk of softer institutional demand have added pressure, despite a university sponsorship deal and Clearstream adding XRP to regulated custody services.
