[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Google has unveiled 2 new features in AI Mode that help users plan summer travel, TechCrunch reported on Thursday.
The first is a store inventory check. A Google AI agent calls nearby stores on a user's behalf to see if an item is in stock. For example, if a user says they forgot prescription sunglasses and are looking for clip-on polarized lenses that fit existing glasses, Google makes the calls and reports back.
The feature was first introduced in standard Search last November and will be applied to AI Mode in the United States in coming weeks.
The second is hotel price tracking. AI Mode users previously could track prices only at the city level, but can now track a specific hotel. On desktop, users search by hotel name and tap a new price-tracking toggle. On mobile, they can set it in the 'Prices' tab after searching. If prices change during the selected date range, users receive an email alert.
Google said that among the overseas destinations most searched on Google Flights for the summer of 2026 were St. Maarten and Stockholm. Domestic destinations included Kansas City, Missouri, and Sarasota, Florida.
