U.S. SEC approves KPI-linked options for crypto-related stocks, launch expected this month

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has approved options linked to key performance indicators for 23 listed crypto-related companies including Coinbase, Robinhood and Mara. Payouts depend on whether preset KPI thresholds are met rather than earnings releases. The contracts are to be listed by Cboe Global Markets and pay $1 if the prediction is correct. Trading cannot begin until Cboe Clear U.S. completes a separate registration step.

Bernstein sees prediction markets\' annual trading volume reaching $10 trillion by 2035

Bernstein estimates prediction markets will reach $10 trillion in annual trading volume by 2035, from an estimated $410 billion this year. It expects about 70 percent compound annual growth through 2035, with the market shifting from sports toward contracts tied to financial assets such as cryptocurrencies, stocks and commodities. Activity has already surged, and crypto and commodities trading have risen sharply on Kalshi. U.S. regulatory uncertainty remains a key variable.

Productive finance plan expanded to 1,560 trillion won; FSC to prepare additional liability exemption measures

South Korea\'s government and financial sector will expand their productive finance supply plan for the next five years to 1,560 trillion won, up 310 trillion won from 1,250 trillion won. The Financial Services Commission also plans additional liability exemption measures to support more active investment and lending by financial companies. Officials discussed implementation and management steps at a meeting in Seoul led by Vice Chairman Kwon Dae-young.
