Samsung Securities enters commercial paper business after 9 years, gets final FSC approval
Samsung Securities will enter the commercial paper business after nine years after South Korea\'s Financial Services Commission gave final approval. The company first applied in 2017 but failed repeatedly due to issues including major shareholder eligibility and possible sanctions. Its review was halted again last year amid potential penalties linked to regulators’ inspections. With sanctions set at an “institutional warning” in July, the review resumed. The number of licensed issuers rises to eight.

KB Financial Group will work with BS Group to jointly identify projects and expand financial support in future growth areas including renewable energy, energy infrastructure and AI data centres. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding on expanding productive finance and shared growth. KOSPI opens higher, renews bid to hold 7,000 level
South Korea\'s KOSPI opened higher on Tuesday and moved back above the 7,000 level in early trade after slipping below it in the previous session on profit-taking. Buying interest centered on semiconductor shares, including SK Hynix. As of 9:09 a.m., the index was up 0.77 percent at 7,007.77. The won strengthened against the dollar, while the Kosdaq index also rose.
