KOSPI ends at 7,200 after wild swings; foreigners net sell nearly 3 trillion won
South Korea\'s KOSPI swung sharply on May 20 and closed down at 7,208.95, after opening higher and briefly sliding to 7,053.84. Foreign investors net sold 2.93 trillion won worth of shares, while retail investors and institutions were net buyers. Analysts said the selling looked more like profit-taking in sharply rising semiconductor stocks than a broader exit from the market.

Hanwha Group, KAIST recruit fifth cohort for middle school space talent programme
Hanwha Group and KAIST said on May 19 they have begun recruiting participants for the fifth cohort of their youth space talent development programme, \"Pebbles of the Universe\". Applications are open from May 18 to June 12 for first- and second-year middle school students nationwide. The selection process includes an essay review and then a discussion and interview, with 30 students chosen for a six-month team mission project running to December.

South Korea\'s KOSPI surged more than 4 percent early on May 11, breaking above the 7,800 level and setting a record high. The index was up 305.83 points, or 4.08 percent, at 7,803.83 as of 9:02 a.m. Individual investors were net buyers, while foreigners and institutions sold. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix rose sharply, while LG Energy Solution and Doosan Enerbility fell. The won weakened against the dollar.
