Securities industry enters first annual meeting season after Commercial Act revision; what to watch
South Korea\'s securities industry has entered its regular annual shareholder meeting season, the first since a revision to the Commercial Act. Firms are reviewing governance changes, CEO appointments and shareholder return policies as well as performance. Key items include management lineups, revisions to corporate charters in line with the amended law, and expanded shareholder returns through dividends and treasury share cancellations. Mirae Asset Securities holds regular shareholders meeting, approves record 634.7 billion won shareholder returns
Mirae Asset Securities held its 57th regular shareholders meeting on March 24 in central Seoul and approved the appointment of inside and outside directors, changes to its articles of incorporation, and its financial statements and dividend payout. It reappointed three inside directors and two outside directors, and newly appointed one outside director. It approved 2025 results and set total shareholder returns at 634.7 billion won, including cash and stock dividends and share cancellation.

Bamisimwi forms panel to review broadcasts for 9th local elections
The Broadcasting Media Communications Deliberation Committee on Monday approved the lineup of the election broadcast deliberation panel for the 9th nationwide local elections. The panel is a consultative body set up under the Public Official Election Act to ensure fairness in election broadcasts. Its term runs from March 24 to July 3, 30 days after election day. It will hold an appointment ceremony and first meeting after March 24 and elect a chair and deputy.
