The Korea IPTV Broadcasting Association (KIBA) said on March 19 it has appointed Yoo Yong-hwa (유용화), a professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, as its new chairman.
The association said it made the final decision after a board resolution on March 11 and a general meeting resolution on the day. His official start date is April 1, and his term is 2 years.
Yoo graduated from Korea University and earned a PhD in political science at the graduate school of Dongguk University. He worked as a visiting scholar at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and at Georgetown University. He has served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Political Science at Dongguk University and as a policy research committee member at the National Assembly. His career also includes work as an anchor for KTV's "Daehan News", a guest commentator at YTN, and a columnist for Kyunghyang Shinmun and Maeil Business Newspaper.
