Elice Group, an artificial intelligence full-stack company, said on Monday it has been selected as the lead institution for the “2026 Generative AI Leading Talent Training Program” promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP).

The program focuses on cultivating key master’s and doctoral-level talent through joint research between domestic universities and generative AI companies. The program runs through December 2029.

Elice Group will form a consortium with 4 universities, including KAIST, Seoul National University, POSTECH and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, to carry out 4 industry-academia joint research projects. Research areas include building a hyper-personalised adaptive learning ecosystem, developing a competency analysis system based on multimodal data, technology to ensure reliability in AI education, and developing domain-specific models and on-device large language model (LLM) technology.

Elice Group will support participating universities with its modular AI data centre, “Elice AI PMDC”, its training platform “EliceLXP”, its industry-specific AI model “Helpy” series and an MLOps pipeline.

Each year, at least 70 master’s and doctoral-level graduate students will gain hands-on experience across the full generative AI development cycle, from data collection and preprocessing to model development, deployment and operations. From 2027, top researchers will be seconded to Elice Group to conduct joint research in practice.

Kim Soo-in (김수인), Elice Group’s chief research officer, said, “The core of this industry-academia joint research is securing talent to develop next-generation AI technologies the industry needs, such as domain-specific models and on-device technology.” Kim added, “We will spare no effort in supporting talent with capabilities spanning from the research stage to the product stage so they can lead national AI competitiveness.”
