Hyperliquid volume surges more than 680 percent as price returns to $91

Hyperliquid (HYPE) trading volume on major exchanges rose more than 680 percent, helping the token recover to around $91. HYPE gained 15.22 percent over the past 24 hours to trade near $91.41. The surge was led by futures, with $13.47 billion in futures volume and about $1.0 billion in spot volume. Open interest stood at $4.02 billion. Binance posted $3.89 billion in daily volume, up 789.13 percent.

Musk comment sends Hyperliquid\'s HYPE token up 20 percent

Hyperliquid\'s native token HYPE jumped 20 percent in a day after Elon Musk reacted publicly to a first post on X by billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller and news of his investment. Expectations that Trade[xyz] could expand into the U.S. regulated derivatives market also added momentum, pushing HYPE close to a record high of $95.49. Trading volume rose to $796 million and Hyperliquid\'s market value topped $24.2 billion.

Bitcoin slides again to $78,000 range on Binance, Google fears

Cryptocurrencies slid broadly on suspicion of a Binance security incident, with bitcoin trading at $78,906, down 2.81 percent on the day, Coin360 data showed. Ethereum fell 3.72 percent to $2,268 and XRP dropped 6.29 percent to $1.24. Funds were said to have moved from a Binance hot wallet, and Binance said user funds were safe while not confirming a hack. Nasdaq fell after Alphabet slid about 12 percent.
