S&P, Pantera launch new crypto index; why Bitcoin and XRP are excluded

S&P Dow Jones Indices has launched an institutional cryptocurrency index with Pantera Capital that selects constituents based on protocol revenue rather than market value. The S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index includes 18 digital assets such as Ethereum, BNB, Solana, Tron and Hyperliquid. Bitcoin and XRP were excluded because they do not meet the index’s protocol revenue requirement. The methodology also excludes staking rewards and investment returns.

Most new coins since 2024 fail to hold even TGE price, data show

More than 90 percent of crypto projects launched since 2024 with market capitalisations above $100 million have failed to regain their listing prices, data showed. CryptoRank found only 8 of 113 tokens released from 2024 to 2026 traded above their token generation event (TGE) prices, while the median return was -95.7 percent. Hyperliquid was a notable outlier. Separate research from Memento Research and Delphi Digital reported similar post-listing declines.

Clarity bill progress highlights regulatory clarity as U.S. institutional money moves into XRP

U.S. institutional money is moving into spot XRP exchange-traded funds, with daily net inflows of $5.66 million, while $698,040 left Hyperliquid-related funds, U.Today reported. The shift comes as U.S. Senate talks on the Clarity bill pick up pace. The bill would place oversight of digital commodities under the CFTC, leaving only securities-classified tokens to the SEC. Other altcoin spot ETF flows remain largely stalled.
