[Digital Today reporter Yoonseo Lee] An outlook has emerged that XRP could reach $3 by March 2027. Major price forecasting models, however, put its price lower at the same point, highlighting a gap.

The Crypto Basic, a blockchain media outlet, reported on the 17th (local time) that cryptocurrency analyst Fiction Finance set a $3 target for XRP and wrote, "Check back once in March 2027."

XRP would need to rise about 114 percent from its reference price of $1.40 to reach $3. Based on $1.30, the starting point cited by Fiction Finance, the required gain is about 131 percent.

Major price forecasting models, by contrast, offered relatively conservative views. Cryptocurrency forecasting platform Changelly projected XRP at a minimum of $1.14, an average of $1.75 and a maximum of $2.36 in March 2027. It also left room for a rise as high as $3.33 in December that year.

CryptoPredictions forecast for March 2027 was a minimum of $1.29, an average of $1.52 and a maximum of $1.90. CoinCodex put the price range for the same month at $1.36 to $1.66 and the average price at about $1.43, and projected that $3 would be reached later in 2027. DappRadar forecast for March 2027 was a minimum of $0.93, an average of $1.45 and a maximum of $2.26.

The models' average forecasts range from $1.43 to $1.75, with their upper-end forecasts around $1.66 to $2.36. Fiction Finance's $3 target is above all the upper-end forecasts of the models used for comparison.

Fiction Finance also presented price targets of $125,000 for bitcoin, $5,000 for ether and $300 for solana. That implies the analyst expects major cryptocurrencies, not only XRP, to rise together through March 2027.

The key question is whether market trends can support such a bullish outlook. With the XRP target above the upper end of major forecasting models, drivers would need to be confirmed that can sustain XRP's rise alongside a broader market recovery.
