Korea post office evolves into everyday safety infrastructure beyond delivery
Cases are rising of postal carriers acting as a local safety net, from helping at traffic accidents to stopping fires and preventing voice phishing losses. Korea’s Postal Service said carriers’ roles are expanding beyond reporting incidents to early response and support for elderly and isolated households. It has institutionalised regular home visits through a welfare parcel programme and piloted cash delivery of local subsidies for older residents.

Park In-hwan encourages postman who rescued citizen at explosion site
Park In-hwan (박인환), head of the Korea Post Postal Service, visited the Gunsan Daeya Post Office in North Jeolla Province on April 7 and encouraged postman Han Sang-geun (한상근) for rescuing a citizen at the scene of an incident believed to have been a gas explosion. Han heard a loud blast while delivering mail in February and found a man in his 60s collapsed with heavy bleeding from the forehead. Han provided emergency aid to the victim.

Aron offers free EV charging at highway rest stops during Lunar New Year holiday
EV charging solutions company Aron will provide a free mobile electric vehicle charging service at highway rest stops during the Lunar New Year holiday with hy Mobility. Aron will deploy 10 mobile charging vehicles to five rest stops in the Gwangju-Jeolla area. The service will run for six days from Feb. 13 to 18 at designated locations within each rest stop. Users can receive 20 kWh free from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
