Pearl Abyss said on Dec. 2 it held the final hackathon of the DingaDing Project for elementary students nationwide on Nov. 21 and 22 at its Home One office.

About 60 elementary students took part after being selected through preliminaries in six regions: Sokcho in Gangwon Province, Sangju in North Gyeongsang Province, Changwon in South Gyeongsang Province, Gunsan in North Jeolla Province, Yeosu in South Jeolla Province and Jecheon in North Chungcheong Province.

Students joined various programmes during the two-day event at Home One. On the first day, employees demonstrated the games developed by the students and exchanged opinions. Mentoring sessions with working developers also took place. On the second day, teams presented their projects, and employees conducted evaluations and gave feedback. Awards and gifts were given to teams with strong results in planning, programming and art.

The DingaDing Project is a Pearl Abyss social contribution programme designed to help future generations develop creative thinking and collaboration skills under the slogan Coding the Possibility of Coding. Since its launch in 2022, about 1,700 students from 16 regions have taken part.

Pearl Abyss said it plans to continue supporting the discovery and development of young people who aspire to work in game development.
