Aron offers free EV charging at highway rest stops during Lunar New Year holiday

EV charging solutions company Aron will provide a “mobile free EV charging service” at highway rest stops during the Lunar New Year holiday period with hy Mobility.

Aron will deploy 10 mobile charging vehicles to five rest stops in the Gwangju-Jeolla area: Gimje Rest Area (Saemangeum-bound), Gimje Rest Area (Jeonju-bound), Gochang Dolmen Rest Area (Mokpo-bound), Gunsan Rest Area (Mokpo-bound) and Hampyeong Cheonji Rest Area (Seoul-bound).

The mobile EV charging service uses charging vehicles equipped with high-capacity battery packs to charge EVs on site. Aron plans to provide the free charging service for six days from Feb. 13 to 18 at designated locations within each rest stop.

EV users can receive 20 kWh of charging free of charge. Service hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Aron CEO Jae-hyun Nam (남재현) said, “In cases of charging demand that temporarily surges, such as during holiday periods, we can respond flexibly through mobile charging facilities.” He added, “We will do our best to operate the service so that everyone can travel safely without anyone experiencing inconvenience due to EV charging problems on their homebound and return trips during this Lunar New Year holiday.”
