Samsung Electronics begins preorders for Galaxy Z8 and Watch Ultra2, Watch9
Samsung Electronics will begin preorders for its eighth-generation foldable smartphones and new smartwatches. The company said preorders for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 will run from July 28 to Aug. 3 at Samsung stores, Samsung.com and mobile carrier outlets. Official domestic release is Aug. 7, with early buyers able to receive and activate devices from Aug. 4.

Samsung Electronics will introduce a “Flip Youth Subscription” benefit aimed at easing the purchase burden for teens and people in their 20s buying the Galaxy Z8 Flip, guaranteeing up to 50 percent of the reference price after 2 years of use. The company said it will run an upgraded “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club” ahead of pre-orders for the Galaxy Z8 series, offering residual value guarantees, Samsung Care+ and accessory discounts, as well as cyber financial crime compensation.

A report said key display technology for Apple’s foldable iPhone may have been previewed in Samsung Electronics’ newly unveiled Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The focus is improved screen-crease performance, a key hurdle Apple has cited for delaying a foldable iPhone. An IT creator who tested the new display called it impressive and said crease visibility has remained minimal so far. Industry speculation includes a possible September unveiling of an iPhone Ultra alongside the iPhone 18 Pro.
