Three Samsung Electronics products have been named to U.S. current affairs weekly TIME's "The Best Inventions of 2026" list. TIME on Oct. 15 selected the Galaxy S26 Ultra in the consumer electronics category, the Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator in the home appliances category and the Odyssey G8 gaming monitor in the entertainment and gaming category. Samsung announced this on Oct. 16.

TIME compiles candidates based on recommendations from editors and correspondents around the world. It evaluates originality, effectiveness, challenge and impact to identify products and ideas that change everyday life. Samsung has been included on the annual list every year since the Galaxy Z Flip3 in 2021. Last year, three products made the list: the Micro RGB TV, The Frame Pro and The Premiere5.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the top model in Samsung's Galaxy S26 series released in March. TIME introduced it as a smartphone focused on privacy protection. The evaluation centered on the "Privacy Display," which virtually blocks side glances at the screen. TIME also noted it is more flexible than existing privacy films because users can set when it is activated or apply it only to specific content such as pop-up notifications.

The Bespoke AI Family Hub was recognized for its "AI Vision" feature that identifies and manages ingredients using an internal camera. Samsung said it has continued to upgrade the feature since first adding it to the Family Hub in 2024. Users can check a list of ingredients inside the refrigerator in the SmartThings app. "AI Food Manager" manages expiration dates and suggests tailored recipes. A front-facing 32-inch screen allows use of a calendar, web browser, weather, photo gallery and music.

The 32-inch Odyssey G8 was selected for being the first gaming monitor to support 6K resolution. Using "Dual Mode," users can switch between 6K 165Hz and 3K 330Hz depending on game genre and usage environment. Samsung said "HDR10+ Gaming" technology analyzes game scenes and frames to deliver three-dimensional picture quality. TIME has also previously selected the Galaxy S22 Ultra in 2022, the Galaxy Z Flip5 in 2023, and the Neo QLED 8K and Music Frame in 2024.
