Snapdragon Summit 2026: All AI from watches to glasses as Google Android XR uses Snapdragon by form factor

Google\'s Android XR device lineup is expanding by using different Snapdragon platforms depending on form factor. At Qualcomm\'s Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Google executive Shahram Izadi said the future of personal computing is not defined by a single device and requires integrated platforms combining silicon, computing and AI. Qualcomm\'s Ziad Asghar said smartphones will remain a hub, but wearable devices are needed for personalised AI. Devices include Samsung\'s Galaxy XR headset, XREAL Aura wired XR glasses and AI glasses planned with eyewear brands.

VR, AR and XR showcased together as MSIT holds Korea Metaverse Festival 2026

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT is holding the 2026 Korea Metaverse Festival from June 10 to 12 at COEX in Seoul, showcasing trends in VR, AR, XR, digital twin and AI-based content. The event features 140 companies and 270 booths across governance, business, innovation and experience zones. It includes smartglasses trials, a global conference, a job fair and a graduate programme performance-sharing session.

MSIT seeks teams for AI, XR developer competition

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Tuesday it is accepting applications until June 26 for the 2026 AI and extended reality service developer competition. Open to adults, teenagers and startups founded within the past year, the contest has developer and creator categories. Entries are due by Aug. 27, with 33 final winning teams selected on Sept. 22. Winners receive 78 million won in prize money and awards, plus mentoring, devices and other support.
