U.S. Clarity Act may be last real chance this year; failure could push it to 2030
The U.S. Senate is moving to take up the Clarity Act, a cryptocurrency market-structure bill, but analysts warn failure to pass it this year could increase the chances it is redesigned in the new Congress in 2027 or effectively scrapped. A cloture vote is set for Sept. 15 and will require 60 votes, including some Democratic support. Lawmakers face a shrinking legislative calendar and uncertainty over control after November midterm elections.

Stablecoin growth bottleneck is banks, not blockchain
Stablecoin payments are expanding quickly in corporate transactions, but their main constraint is bank infrastructure rather than blockchain technology, the article said. Annualised stablecoin payments were about $390 billion at end-2025, or about 0.02 percent of the $208 trillion cross-border payments market. Banks still handle on- and off-ramps, compliance and local payment-network access, and reliance on a single bank is seen as a key operational risk.

The group plans to focus first on a dollar stablecoin and later expand to products based on other G7 currencies, with a euro stablecoin listed next.
