Bitcoin rebounds to $63,400 despite Hormuz closure news and U.S. inflation surge

Bitcoin recovered the $63,400 level despite a rise in the U.S. producer price index and reports that Iran temporarily closed the Strait of Hormuz. BTC/USD rose as high as $63,200 on Bitstamp, up more than 2.5 percent on the day, Cointelegraph reported. Oil prices climbed, with WTI topping $91 a barrel. U.S. data showed May core final demand prices up 5.1 percent year on year and CPI up 4.2 percent.

SpaceX alumni bet on solar and batteries as AI data centre power demand surges

As power demand from AI data centres surges, founders with SpaceX backgrounds have entered a new power supply business combining solar power and batteries. U.S. energy startup Ambrosia Energy is developing a system targeting AI data centres, aiming to supply stable 24-hour power. It targets a power cost of about $100 per MWh and says plants can be built within 12 months of signing contracts. The company has begun building its first plant in West Texas.

OpenAI considers mega data centre in Ohio backed by Nvidia

OpenAI is seeking to lease a 10-gigawatt AI data centre in the U.S. state of Ohio, a move that could rank among the largest single-site AI computing infrastructure investments if completed. Discussions are based on funding support from Nvidia. The proposed location is the former Portsmouth gas diffusion plant site in Pike County. OpenAI’s Stargate project has secured about 7 gigawatts across seven sites as of September 2025.
