Saylor\'s new math sparks debate over Strategy\'s $1.2 billion \'BTC Gain\'
Michael Saylor presented Strategy\'s weekly \'BTC Gain\' as 16,622 bitcoin, worth about $1.2 billion, calling it the closest metric to net income on a bitcoin basis. The figure followed the company\'s purchase of 22,337 bitcoin from March 9 to 15, funded largely through a perpetual preferred share and common stock sales. Critics note the metric is non-GAAP and does not reflect dividends, debt costs or other capital expenses.
