[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] PayPal presented stablecoins and AI-based payments as key strategies in its second-quarter results. Cointelegraph reported on Monday that PayPal posted second-quarter revenue of $8.68 billion.

Earnings per share were $1.26. That was down from $1.30 a year earlier and below the market estimate of $1.28. Revenue rose from $8.29 billion to $8.68 billion, beating the market estimate of $8.47 billion.

PayPal said it is expanding its business into agentic payments, stablecoins, identity and biometric technology by using its payment network, risk infrastructure and trust capabilities.

Crypto assets were again included as an adjustment item this quarter. PayPal excludes gains and losses on crypto assets held for strategic investments and investment purposes from non-GAAP results. It said this is because it does not actively trade those assets and does not use them for ongoing operational funding.
