Solana adopts Falcon signatures to counter quantum computing threat, says performance hit manageable

The Solana Foundation has outlined a plan to shift network security to prepare for quantum computing threats while maintaining performance and user experience through a phased rollout. Core development group Anza and validator client Firedancer from Jump Crypto have both chosen the quantum-resistant signature scheme Falcon and begun initial implementation. The foundation said the quantum threat is real but not imminent and that deployment is ready. It said any performance impact would be manageable.

CrowdStrike launches Project QuiltWorks alliance to counter AI-led security threats

CrowdStrike has introduced Project QuiltWorks, an alliance of companies meant to help enterprises quickly identify and fix software vulnerabilities found by frontier AI models. Accenture, Ernst & Young, IBM Cybersecurity Services, Kroll and OpenAI are participating, with OpenAI and Anthropic supporting models. CrowdStrike said faster AI-driven discovery is shrinking the time defenders have to respond. The group will collaborate on the Falcon platform and prioritize vulnerabilities based on attacker paths.

Alphabet was a \'hidden\' big investor in SpaceX, discloses 6.11 percent stake ahead of IPO

Alphabet, Google’s parent, is confirmed to have held a 6.11 percent stake in SpaceX as of end-2025, based on a new Alaska disclosure. Alaska requires disclosure of shareholders holding 5 percent or more. If SpaceX lists at a $2 trillion valuation, the stake would be valued at about $122 billion, though the stake may have declined after a February merger of SpaceX and xAI.
