Tesla signals \'major leap\' with FSD v15, eyes Optimus sales from second half 2027
Tesla has described its Full Self-Driving software FSD v15 as a step-change in autonomous driving performance and suggested it could begin external commercial sales of its humanoid robot Optimus from the second half of 2027. It shared the roadmap in a recent meeting with JPMorgan at its Fremont plant. Tesla also outlined plans for Cybercab expansion, hardware updates including AI4.5, and delayed the AI5 chip to mid-2027.

Musk says HW3 upgrades needed as Tesla still mulls FSD plan
Tesla has yet to present a concrete execution plan for supporting Full Self-Driving (FSD) on Hardware 3 (HW3) vehicles. CEO Elon Musk acknowledged the need to upgrade HW3 vehicles but did not give clear answers on timing, methods or how much of the cost Tesla would bear. He said it makes sense to upgrade vehicles below HW4 and is considering options including next-generation AI boards, while chip production and priorities could delay HW3 support.

Tesla unmonitored robotaxi fleet shrinks to about 20 vehicles
Tesla’s fleet of unmonitored robotaxis has recently declined, with 20 vehicles counted over the past seven days, and its overall ride-hail fleet down to 34, Electric reported. Tracker data showed 14 unmonitored vehicles in Austin and three each in Dallas and Houston, down from about 25 in late April. The number of ride-hail vehicles in California’s Bay Area fell to nine from 107 in April, pulling total active ride-hail vehicles down from 165.
