FCC considers scorecard grading U.S. carriers on illegal spam call blocking
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission is moving to introduce a scorecard to assess telecom companies\' performance in blocking illegal spam calls. The plan would evaluate not only whether carriers followed related rules but also how many illegal robocalls they actually stopped. The FCC has begun soliciting public comment on metrics and display methods, including numeric scores, A to F grades and risk categories, while considering data sources and how to reflect reliability and carrier size.

U.S. FCC withdraws certification for HoverAir modular drone Versa, citing erroneous approval
HoverAir’s new modular drone Versa has effectively been blocked from entering the U.S. market, TechRadar reported on Aug. 24. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission cancelled the certification previously granted to the product, saying it was issued in error, and removed it from its public database. The FCC said importing, marketing or selling the device in the United States would violate U.S. law and ordered the company to stop immediately.

Trump aims to boost U.S. rocket launch approvals to 1,000 a year by 2030
U.S. President Donald Trump signed a national security memo to raise annual U.S. rocket launch and re-entry approvals to more than 1,000 by 2030. The memo calls for faster reviews of launch sites and environmental assessments, aiming to speed commercial space licensing. The White House framed it as an “America First” replacement for existing space transportation policy. Commerce and the FCC are tasked with securing spectrum, while Transportation is told to set priority airspace corridors and integrate launch traffic into modernised air traffic control.
