Line Games\' Quiet draws 350,000 sign-ups from 148 countries in first global test

Line Games secured more than 350,000 applications from players in 148 countries for the first global test of its in-development PC co-op comic horror game Quiet. The company said more than 270,000 users downloaded and played the game during the roughly month-long Steam playtest. About 1,200 Quiet-related videos were posted on major platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. A survey of participants received more than 820 user opinions.

Line Games has withdrawn its planned shareholder-allotted rights offering, saying the decision followed a comprehensive review of internal and external market conditions. The company filed a revised disclosure on Sept. 15 to cancel the capital increase plan, halting the offering. A company official said the board resolved to withdraw the plan after close examination. The company also denied any connection to a lawsuit between Line Yahoo (LY) and Lungo Entertainment, saying the purpose was consistently to raise operating funds.
