Line Games is speeding up efforts to expand its PC platform-focused title lineup to target the global market.

Line Games said on Tuesday that the demo for its new science-fiction co-op horror game "Code Exit" hit a peak No. 1 ranking on the Epic Games Store's Top Demo chart. The game is developed by South Korean indie developer Phase8 Studio and is serviced by Line Games.

Code Exit first released a demo version on May 20 via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It then held user play sessions at the 2026 PlayX4 event in Ilsan's KINTEX from May 21 to 24. After the event, the demo reached No. 1 on the Epic Games Store's Top Demo chart and has remained ranked No. 3 as of now, after the event ended. Line Games said Steam wishlist figures, an indicator of user expectations during the event period, rose by about 2,500.

The game is set in a city occupied by a rogue artificial intelligence called Minerva. Players join an investigation group called Hermes dispatched to restore Minerva and play in a first-person view as they avoid killing machines and uncover the truth behind the incident. It supports 1 to 4 players and uses real-time in-game voice chat to complete missions.

Epic Games' Unreal Engine was used for development, with high-resolution graphics and sound design applied. A key feature is that in-game AI learns players' gameplay patterns in real time to create unpredictable fear. During PlayX4, Phase8 Studio developers stayed at the demo booth, gathered user feedback and rolled out patches.

Line Games has pursued a mobile-centered lineup strategy, but is expanding the share of PC titles from this year to target the global market. After placing "Ember and Blade" on the Epic Games Store last year, topping the Top Demo chart and being selected among 20 anticipated titles for this year, Code Exit has also secured early indicators, giving momentum to its platform expansion strategy.

Code Exit aims to launch in early access in the first quarter of next year after additional development.

A Line Games official said, "We plan to spare no support so we can continue updating to a more complete version by compiling the various feedback collected since the demo was released."
