Ecopro BM builds all-solid-state value chain from raw materials to materials and cells

Ecopro BM said it has set up a collaboration system to commercialise next-generation batteries. The company said it held a kickoff meeting on Aug. 26 in Gyeonggi Province with related companies and research institutes for the government-led \"Super Eul Project\" and began full-scale activities. The meeting launched an \"all-solid-state one team\" spanning raw materials, materials and cells, with research institutes and universities also participating.

Ecopro BM begins Hungary plant line conversion

Ecopro BM has begun work to convert an existing NCA production line at its Hungary plant into a line that can also produce NCM, it said on Sunday. The move aims to supply high-nickel cathode materials for premium electric vehicles in Europe from the fourth quarter of next year. The conversion is expected to cost about 40 billion won. The Hungary plant began commercial operations in the first half of this year and is running at 54,000 tons of annual capacity.

Lithium prices rise to $22 as recycled battery sector nears profit turnaround

Lithium prices have climbed from about $8 to $22 in a year, ending a nearly three-year slide in secondary battery raw materials, helping resource recyclers that extract and resell metals from used batteries. The recovery in selling prices is raising expectations that a loss-making stretch of more than 10 quarters could shift to profit. Analysts also point to improving utilisation at new plants.
