A tailwind in the semiconductor industry is translating into results for related equipment companies. Ecopro HN said on Sept. 14 its cumulative orders disclosed this year were tallied at 191.4 billion won. That is about 136 percent of its 2025 sales of 141.1 billion won.

Starting with a contract in March to supply environmental equipment to the Tongxiao LNG power plant in Taiwan, the company has since won a string of orders for greenhouse gas reduction equipment from Samsung E&A, Hoffman in the United States and Micron, expanding the scope of its core business. It said that was why the share of overseas orders rose 19 percentage points to 41 percent this year from 22 percent in 2023.

A semiconductor boom, with rising investment in new fabs, is also behind the increase in orders. Perfluorocompounds, or PFCs, generated in semiconductor processes are greenhouse gases with a global warming potential thousands to tens of thousands of times higher than carbon dioxide. Ecopro HN treats them at about 750 to 800 degrees Celsius using catalyst-based low-temperature decomposition technology.

The company secured high removal efficiency while cutting energy use by more than 90 percent compared with existing thermal decomposition methods. It also commercialised, for the first time in the world, large-capacity greenhouse gas treatment technology installed outside semiconductor fabs, proving its technological capabilities. The company also stressed it has solutions spanning design, construction, and operations and maintenance.

Demand is expected to remain steady as investment expansion in semiconductor plants and industrial facilities increases the number of operating facilities. Based on this structure, the company set a goal of raising the share of operations revenue to more than half of the total by 2030. It also plans to expand in the environment and resources field through carbon capture, utilisation and storage, or CCUS, environmentally friendly water treatment, or EWT, and byproduct resource recycling. It also plans to enter the semiconductor materials market, including materials for advanced packaging and HBM, and to expand into the energy field with materials that respond to next-generation batteries.

An Ecopro HN official said, "A series of overseas orders this year is the result of our environmentally friendly technological capabilities and product competitiveness being recognised in the global market." The official added, "We will expand our global customer base centred on the semiconductor and power generation industries while diversifying our business into environment and resources and advanced materials and energy to contribute to sustainable growth and the realisation of carbon neutrality."
