LG Whisen runs Changwon production line at full capacity amid early heat

LG Electronics is running its air-conditioner production line in Changwon at full capacity to meet demand amid early heat. The company said sales of LG Whisen stand air conditioners have risen by more than double digits in May from a year earlier. Sales of AI-equipped models have also increased, while direct-to-consumer and subscription sales via its online brand shop have climbed 50 percent and more than 20 percent, respectively.

LG Electronics Q1 operating profit 1.67 trillion won, up 32.9 percent year on year

LG Electronics said on Tuesday its first-quarter operating profit rose 32.9 percent from a year earlier to 1.67 trillion won, while revenue increased 4.3 percent to a record 23.73 trillion won for a first quarter. Revenue slipped 0.5 percent from the previous quarter, but operating profit returned to positive territory from a 109.0 billion won loss. Net profit rose 14.8 percent to 1.01 trillion won.
