G-Star expands and AGF focuses as Korea game events diverge

Korea’s major game events G-Star and AGF are pursuing different strategies. G-Star is expanding its exhibition scope to include AI services and more overseas and indie developers, while AGF is reinforcing fan-focused marketing by centring displays on upcoming releases and existing intellectual property. This year G-Star will be held in Busan and AGF in Goyang. NCSoft, last year’s main sponsor of G-Star, is serving as AGF’s main sponsor.

NCSoft to join AGF 2026 as main sponsor, showcase Astrae Oratio

NCSoft will participate as the main sponsor of AGF 2026, to be held from Dec. 4 to 6 at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang, it said on Monday. The company will set up an exclusive 150-booth exhibition space for its new title Astrae Oratio, the largest among exhibitors, NCSoft said. The booth will include a hands-on demo zone and merchandise such as an artbook.

Korean game makers step up publishing to broaden lineups and share risks

Major South Korean game companies are strengthening their publishing businesses by finding and servicing games made by outside developers alongside in-house development. The move aims to widen sources of new titles as development of big-budget games stretches out and to reduce reliance on a handful of internal projects. NCSoft, Nexon, Krafton and Neowiz are expanding lineups through external titles and IP, seeking to diversify genres and shorten release gaps while sharing roles with specialist studios.
