NCSoft said on Wednesday it made strategic investments in two South Korean game developers to expand its global publishing business and secure new intellectual property (IP).

The investments target Dynamis One, a developer specialising in subculture titles, and Dexa Studio, a developer specialising in massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs). The two studios were founded in 2024 around key developers behind representative successful titles in their genres. They have genre expertise and proven development capabilities.

Through the investments, NCSoft will secure publishing rights to new IPs under development at the two companies. It will speed up the expansion of its global publishing business and the strengthening of development clusters at home and abroad.

Dynamis One is a game developer specialising in the subculture genre. It is currently developing an undisclosed new title, tentatively titled "Project AT," in-house. "Project AT" is a new-legend subculture RPG game with "magic" and "administration" as central themes, and a project Dynamis One began developing anew after suspending an earlier project. NCSoft will handle domestic and overseas publishing for "Project AT." Through this, it will continue to push portfolio diversification and the building of a subculture development cluster.

Dexa Studio is a developer led by MMORPG specialists with successful experience and is developing a new IP, tentatively titled "Project R," featuring high-level graphics and action. NCSoft will handle domestic and overseas publishing for "Project R" based on its long-accumulated know-how in operating MMORPG services. It expects to create the best synergy by combining Dexa Studio's development capabilities with NCSoft's MMO business organisation capabilities.

NCSoft co-CEO Park Byung-moo said, "This investment is a strategic investment in an external developer that has proven an excellent development history and execution capabilities." He added, "We will continue investments across various genres and focus on strengthening global publishing competitiveness and expanding development clusters by genre."
