IPTV industry urges easing of fee and terms rules; US Communications Commission says it agrees with direction but needs to pace changes
South Korea\'s IPTV industry urged the Korea Communications Commission to ease regulations on fees, terms and advertising. At a seminar at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building, the head of the Korea IPTV Broadcasting Association called for legislation to pass in the autumn regular session. Speakers said shrinking advertising and production show an industry downturn despite stable subscriber numbers. The commission said it agrees with deregulation and a shift to post regulation, but called for balanced safeguards.

TVING runs first overseas campaign at KCON Japan 2026
South Korean streaming service TVING said it operated its first overseas offline booth at KCON Japan 2026, held in Japan from May 8 to 10. About 120,000 visitors attended the event. TVING ran game and photo zones at a train station-themed booth featuring its originals \"Yumi\'s Cells Season 3\" and \"Become a Legend in the Cooking Unit\". Special giveaway goods were quickly exhausted over three days.

HYBE appoints Isaac Lee and Kevin Mayer to board to speed global management
HYBE said on Tuesday it appointed Isaac Lee, chairman and CEO of HYBE America, as an inside director and Kevin Mayer, former senior executive vice president at The Walt Disney Co, as a non-executive director through its regular shareholders meeting. HYBE said Lee will oversee U.S. and Latin American business and strengthen execution by unifying decision-making. It said Mayer brings platform and content investment experience, including leading the launch of Disney Plus.
