Shinhan Financial steps up carbon-neutral practices on third anniversary of energy strategy

Shinhan Financial Group said on Tuesday it will strengthen its ESG execution and spread a culture of carbon-neutral practices as it marks the third anniversary of its energy strategy declaration. The strategy focuses on using environmentally friendly energy, saving energy and returning savings to society. The group has expanded measures such as a vehicle rotation scheme, building energy-efficiency work and a clothing recycling campaign involving employees.

KT overhauls organisation, cuts executive ranks about 30 percent to focus on renewal and efficiency

KT said on Monday it will carry out a 2026 organisational overhaul and executive appointments to become South Korea\'s top AX platform company. It said the changes focus on personnel renewal, improving management efficiency and strengthening field management centred on customer service and quality. KT said it will replace department heads reporting to the CEO, cut executive-level organisations by about 30 percent, integrate security functions and reorganise AI R&D.

Lee says energy must be saved; five big financial groups join alternate-day driving

South Korea\'s five major financial groups are taking steps such as alternate-day driving restrictions in response to a government request to help save energy. KB Financial begins a groupwide scheme on March 25, while Shinhan expanded it from March 23. Hana, Woori and NH Nonghyup are also adopting driving curbs and power-saving measures including lights-off steps, HVAC efficiency efforts and increased monitoring of energy use.
