BNK Busan Bank said on Thursday it held its “2026 first-half management strategy meeting” at its training center in Gijang and shared its business direction for the first half under the theme “Dynamic Move, Make Wave.”

The meeting was attended by about 240 people, including CEO Kim Sung-joo (김성주), executives and branch and department heads. Through the meeting, the bank presented dynamic, field-centred sales and new finance that brings vitality to the regional economy as key directions, and said it aims to actively support a recovery in regional industries and the real economy.

It plans to step up focused financial support to help the maritime industry, a part of Busan’s identity and a future growth engine for the region, make a leap forward. Beyond simply supplying funds, it aims to build a specialised support system that covers the broader ecosystem of key local industries such as maritime, shipbuilding and logistics. It plans to play a leading role in Busan’s push to become a “global maritime finance hub.”

It will also accelerate a shift in its financial structure to align with the drive for productive finance, linking to the real economy and future growth industries. To do so, it plans to reorganise internal teams and staff and provide timely funding to small and mid-sized companies and regional innovative firms to bring tangible vitality to the local economy.

In a CEO message, Kim called for innovation in work practices using AI and digital technology, higher sales productivity and stronger execution through accountable management centred on the front line.

Kim said, “Protecting financial consumers is not a regulation but a responsibility that banks must uphold.” He added, “We must continue basic, fundamentals-based finance so customers do not feel inconvenience, from the product sales process through after-sales management.”
