Shinhan Financial Group said on March 9 it held the '2026 Shinhan SHeroes (SHeroes) Conference' on the afternoon of March 6 at the Royal Hotel in Seoul’s Jung-gu district.
Chairman Jin Ok-dong (진옥동) attended the event with the group’s female executives and department heads to congratulate about 60 people selected for the ninth cohort of SHeroes as they begin a new journey.
Members of the eighth cohort who completed last year’s training programme also attended. They listened to a lecture on SHeroes’ role in achieving “first-class Shinhan,” shared the results of their training and presented action plans to strengthen female leadership.
Shinhan SHeroes is the financial sector’s first programme to foster female leaders, launched in 2018. Through last year, it has selected a total of 390 female leaders within the group and has run structured mentoring and coaching programmes.
Shinhan SHeroes, which is assessed as contributing to the spread of a culture that respects diversity within the group by discovering female leadership talent and expanding roles, is developing the programme through ongoing networking with graduates.
From this year, it plans to run the programme on themes that can be used immediately in the workplace, such as teamwork and attempts at change, by focusing on individual goals for innovation and execution in their core work beyond the category of female leaders.
In congratulatory remarks, Jin said, “Shinhan SHeroes are talent leading Shinhan beyond female leaders.” He added, “I hope you become leaders who do not follow a path someone else has made, but create your own answers based on independent thinking.”
