Ukrainian army deploys robots to automate installation of defensive wire obstacles

Ukraine\'s military has deployed remotely controlled ground robots to install barbed wire and other defensive obstacles in open areas near the front line, replacing tasks that previously exposed combat engineers. Photos released by Ukraine\'s ground forces show a six-wheeled robot carrying a frame that feeds out wire as it moves. The 16th Independent Support Brigade operates the system. Ukraine says robot operations are rising overall, though key performance details remain undisclosed.

Virgin Galactic unveils next-generation spacecraft Apeiron

U.S. private space company Virgin Galactic unveiled Apeiron, its first Delta-class space tourism spacecraft, and began full-scale preparations for flight testing. The company moved the vehicle from its Mesa, Arizona plant to Spaceport America in New Mexico using the carrier aircraft VMS Eve. It plans to complete avionics and flight-software integration and verification before ground tests and a rocket-powered flight test reaching above 80 km. Virgin Galactic is targeting its first commercial flight in early Q2 2027.

Bitcoin beats S&P 500 on most trading days, but monthly performance lags

Bitcoin has again topped the S&P 500 on more than half of trading days, but it continues to lag in month-to-date performance. Data cited by CryptoSlate showed Bitcoin’s daily relative win rate versus the S&P 500 recovered from about 20 percent in June to above 50 percent recently. From Oct. 1 to Oct. 26, Bitcoin outperformed on 10 of 18 sessions but fell 4.25 percent while the S&P 500 rose 0.33 percent. Flows concentrated in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, while spot demand remained weak and downside hedging demand increased in options.
